Big Mac

is a cute, sassy, adult red eared slider. Big Mac is looking for a home that can provide her with 120-gallon pond or larger. She will need a home who can provide her with linear UVB as well as opportunities for basking outside the water. The ideal home for a full-grown red eared slider would be a large outdoor pond with an indoor set-up for the winter. Currently, Big Mac is being housed in a 120-gal shallow stock tank indoors. Big Mac was surrendered to a nearby emergency vet clinic by a good samaritan who found her with a fishhook stuck in her mouth. After treating, the clinic contacted us. Due to this story, we believe Big Mac to be wild caught. Since red ear sliders are invasive in Colorado, she will have to remain in captivity. Given her attitude and sass, we think she will make a great pet for someone who does not wish to have a whole lot of hands-on interactions. She is currently eating minnows. We have duckweed for snacking and have tried Fluker's turtle pellets, but she seems uninterested in both. We do not expect her to grow much more, if at all.
